472 mL/ 16 oz.
Damar resin is a very people and earth friendly ingredient. Damar resin is harvested from trees in Malaysia. These trees are not damaged from the process. Damar in combination with beeswax produces a paint film with a higher index of refraction and Enkaustikos uses it as a main ingredient in their encaustic paints making the colours appear luminous.
*NOTE* Damar varnish is made with turpentine which is not only flammable but also gives of unhealthy fumes. Enkaustikos Damar Resin is a safe product to work with. The FDA has even approved the use of damar resin to coat the boxes carting fruits and vegetables.

Bleached Beeswax is purified beeswax that achieves its bright white colour through a chemical bleaching process. It istypically used for candle making and by oil painters in their painting mediums to matte colours or varnishes. It comes in small easy to melt pastilles (or thin pellets). For encaustic use, Enkaustikos recommends the use of United States Pharmaceutical (USP) grade Beeswax because it is bleach and chemical free.
carnauba wax
Carnauba Wax

236 mL/8 oz.
472 mL/16 oz.
Unlike most Carnauba wax which typically is a very deep yellow coloured wax, Enkaustikos offers a very light, pale yellow wax. This wax is harvested from the smaller, younger leaves of the palm tree. Carnauba Wax is added to paint to raise the melting point and can create a harder, more durable paint film. Carnauba is the hardest of the natural waxes but it is a very brittle wax so be careful not to add too much to your paint as cracking may occur. Carnauba melts at 187 to 190 degrees F. It is sold in thin, easy to melt flakes.

luster wax
Luster Wax

236 mL/8 oz.
472 mL/16 oz.
Luster Wax has terrific characteristics and is a good alternative to Carnauba wax because it is whiter and clearer. This is a high quality, synthetic, non-petroleum wax derived from coal. It can be added to your wax paint to raise the melting point, increase hardness, and increase shine. Luster Wax requires higher temperatures to melt and blend with your paints as its melting point is actually 205 0 F. It comes in small easy to melt granules (or prills). It is not a petroleum oil based wax paraffin or microcrystalline.
impasto wax
Impasto Wax

236 mL/8 oz.
496 mL/10 oz. Block
Enkaustikos blends their highest quality pharmaceutical grade beeswax with a pure translucent white microcrystallinewax to produce Impasto Wax. Impasto wax allows artists to inexpensively add actual dimension and sculptural effects to encaustic paintings. Encaustic painters often use Impasto Wax when doing the "Slip and Score" technique that is common in ceramics.

microcrystaline wax white
Microcrystaline Wax White

355 mL/12 oz. Block
Pure white microcrystalline wax is used as a plasticizer. It is more flexible than paraffin and melts at 170 to 180 degrees F. It is ideal for building up layers of texture on your encaustic paintings and ensures the integrity of your paint film. Microcrystalline wax melts at a higher temperature than the paints and beeswax (143 to 150 degrees) which allows you to apply encaustic paint over the modeled surface with minimal disturbance to the bottom sculpted surface.
