Marion Fischer
German born artist, Marion Fischer, graduated from Queen's University (Kingston, ON) with a Bachelor of Nursing Science, Bachelor of Fine Art & Bachelor of Education degree. Her career has been eclectic and taken her on many adventures. Most recently, she has decided to focus on doing art and presently resides in Chelsea, Quebec where she has her studio. Represented by the Dale Smith Gallery on Ottawa, Marion exhibits regularly and also continues to enjoy teaching the occasional workshop.
There is a tentative balance between the nature of materials and mastering their use to venturing beyond the edge of the known where many exciting, original and even revolutionary things happen. One of the aspects of teaching that interests me the most is providing tools to individuals --- concrete and abstract --- which ignites their creativity or propels it to a new level. There is an astounding complexity to what does and what could influence how we create art. It's immensely satisfying to sensitize people to even just a few things they may have over-looked, take for granted or even dismissed.
