Suzanne Warren-Powell

Suzanne was born in Montreal. She has lived in Europe and the United States and for the past 23 years has called Ottawa home.
Originally destined to become a musician, Suzanne has spent the last 20 years teaching visual art for the City of Ottawa. She has been a juror, lecturer and workshop leader for many area art organizations.
Suzanne operates her own business "So Zen Art" which involves tutoring art students in a one-room schoolhouse approach at her teaching studio. Freedom of expression and confidence in the creative journey are the underpinnings of her teaching style - Knowledge of materials and design are the tools for this journey.
In 2001, Suzanne co-founded OMMA (Ottawa Mixed Media Artists - www.omma.cn) in order to support and further the visibility and accessibility of Mixed Media in the City of Ottawa. As mentor for the organization, Suzanne has raised the profile of Mixed Media in Ottawa and fostered the careers of many Ottawa artists.

Suzanne is able to offerworkshops for both French and English speaking participants.
