Speed Dating with Acrylic Mediums

A fast and furious round-robin tactile exploration of acrylic mediums. Hands-on stations will be set up to examine, manipulate and play with a stunning variety of Acrylic Mediums in conjunction with Acrylic Colors, and then on to incorporating your favorites into a finished painting. This is the perfect way to get to know the intimate working properties of the most fascinating and multi-faceted painting tools available today. Like a composer of music, you are the composer of your paintings and in creating your visual symphonies, all the elements of rhythm, harmony, intriguing discord, volume, shape, balance and asymmetry must be taken into consideration. It's all about playing with design...and it's all about all the right notes!

Explore the many different application techniques of Acrylic paints. Learn how to use them and where to use them for stunning effect. Classes will cover one or two of the following painting techniques which will be introduced each day for students to use together with all their variations:

Glazing– using water and mediums

Create a large canvas in one day!

Get yourself a LARGE surface to paint on, bring it to the studio and I will get you going. We’ll get on it with brushes, knifes and more unusual art tools. Prepare to work hard. This workshop is not for the timid amongst us (or maybe especially for them…..:)

Liquid Acrylics/Collage Extravaganza with Shirley Mancino
