Orders within Canada are shipped via UPS or Purolator. Rates are calculated based on weight and package size. We offer free shipping on orders over $89 (before tax). Please note we cannot ship to a PO Box.

Orders to the United States are shipped by Canada Post/USPS at the rate selected at checkout. Rates are calculated based on weight and package size. Any applicable customs charges will be added to the order at checkout. We offer free shipping on orders over $100 USD.

Orders to the UK are shipped via UPS at the rate selected at checkout. Rates are calculated based on weight and package size. We offer free shipping to the UK on orders over £75.

Shipping to the EU are shipped via UPS at the rate selected at checkout. Rates are calculated based on weight and package size. Any applicable customs charges will be added to the order at checkout.

Orders to the rest of the world are shipped via UPS at the rate selected at checkout. Rates are calculated based on weight and package size.  Any applicable duties/taxes will be the responsibility of the customer, to be paid at the time of import.

Returns
Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.

To be eligible for a return or exchange, your item must be unused, unopened and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

Refunds (if applicable)
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.

Late or missing refunds (if applicable)
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.
Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Sale items (if applicable)
Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded.

Exchanges (if applicable)
We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at support@tri-art.ca and send your item to: 290 Princess St, Kingston ON K7L 1B5, Canada.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.

If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.

Technical Information
Lightfastness
4 (Excellent) Tri-Art numeric scale: 4 = Excellent, 3 = Very Good. A rating of 4 = 'I' on an ASTM lightfastness scale, and a rating of 3 = 'II' on an ASTM lightfastness scale.
Opacity
Opaque Opacity codes: T = Transparent, SO = Semi-opaque, O = Opaque.
Granulating
Granulation Granulating colours show visible particle separation or texture, especially in thin applications. This can create a broken, textured look.
Pigments
Célibataire Single pigment colours tend to mix cleaner and are easier to predict. Mixed pigment colours combine multiple pigments to achieve a specific hue or behaviour.
Pigment family
Minéral Pigment family describes pigment type. Mineral pigments are often earth or inorganic. Organic pigments are typically synthetic organics, often higher chroma. Mixed indicates a blend.
Tinting strength
Élevé Tinting strength is how strongly the colour influences mixtures when mixed with white or a lighter colour. Higher tinting strength means a little goes a long way.
Staining
partiel Staining describes how readily a pigment binds into the surface. Higher staining is harder to lift or remove and can be more permanent in thin applications.
Colour bias
Super Colour bias is the undertone (warm, cool, neutral). Bias affects mixing, especially when creating clean neutrals and secondary colours.
Pigment codes
Noir de Pérylène Pigment codes are Colour Index identifiers (for example PB29, PR101). They indicate the actual pigments used, which helps compare colours across brands and predict mixing behaviour.
Sheen
Semi-brillant Sheen is the surface reflectivity after drying. Codes: M = Matte, SG = Semi-gloss, G = Gloss.

Le noir Mars est un pigment terrestre du XXe siècle fabriqué à partir d'un oxyde de fer synthétique. Ce pigment noir légèrement froid, tirant sur le violet, a un fort pouvoir colorant et est idéalement utilisé seul pour créer des passages veloutés et mats de couleur noir cendré.

Le Noir Mars fait partie des Tri-Art Liquides, un acrylique fluide avec la consistance d'une encre qui se verse, se tache et s'étale en douceur. Cette peinture opaque, avec un pouvoir colorant élevé et une manipulation partielle en fait un excellent choix pour les glacis, l'aérographe, le travail au pinceau fluide et les techniques mixtes.
