Sepia was originally sourced from the ink sacs of cuttlefish. Fugitive and unsustainable, this modern update uses transparent red oxide and phthalo green (blue shade) to recreate a rich transparent brown with cool, green undertones. Use this deep colour in place of black to draw, mix dark shades, and glaze passages of shadow.
