I'm an abstract artist who only uses Tri-Art's transparent red iron oxide (affectionately known to me as "TRIO") in all my works. If Tri-Art discontinued this pigment, I don't know what I'd do.
The pigment applies smoothly and mixes very well not only with Tri-Art acrylic mediums, but mediums from other brands. The pigment is rich and I can create a beautiful value spectrum ranging from a light wash of brown to a deep black. I've used Golden's transparent red iron oxide, and Tri-Art's product is superior.
One suggestion: I always purchase the 1L tub. The lid is too large and not always easy to open. Maybe consider making the lid more ergonomic/accessible?
