Should I buy Rheotech or Art Noise?
Pick by how you paint. Rheotech is medium body acrylic, the format that behaves like traditional artist acrylic, suited to canvas, panel, and brushwork. Art Noise is acrylic gouache, a matte fluid acrylic suited to illustration, flat colour work, design, and mural painting. Both are made by the same chemists at our Kingston facility and both are fully mixable with Tri-Art Finest.
Is this the same as craft paint?
No. Craft paint is formulated for decorative surfaces and is typically not lightfast or fully mixable with professional acrylic systems. Rheotech and Art Noise are artist-grade acrylic made by a professional acrylic manufacturer, formulated for studio practice and finished work.
How does Rheotech compare to Tri-Art Finest?
Tri-Art Finest carries a higher pigment load, a heavier body, and a broader range of single-pigment and specialty colours. Rheotech keeps the qualities that matter most for daily practice (real pigment, lightfastness, proper acrylic film formation) at a more accessible price.
